Lester 269-5802 - Kohler Starter

Used on Kohler models CH14, CV12.5, CV13, CV14, CV15, CV16, CV18, CV20, CV22, CV23, CV460, CV461 & CV490; Cub Cadet 2072 & 2082; John Deere STX30, STX38 & STX46; Toro 718-Z, 720-Z, Groundsmaster 117, STX30, STX38 & STX46. This starter is very similar to the 269-5511 except the drive and mounting area have been changed to solve the problem of the starter drive hitting the flywheel on some applications. The change requires that any spacers or washers that may have been used in the original mounting be discarded when installing this starter. Also, on engines with studs and spacers for fuel tank mounting, measure the length of the spacers. If they are longer than 39mm (1.53"), they must be ground down to a usable length. There is no serial number range on this problem. Striking or disassembling starter will void warranty.
